Child Poverty: Child Sensitive Social Protection

Below you can find a list of global indicators relating to Child Sensitive Social Protection (CSSP), a sub-theme of Child Poverty.

Save the Children's CSSP work is focused around resource transfers (cash, vouchers, food, non-food and shelter items, etc) to families and caregivers, and in some cases to children themselves, to safeguard and promote children’s consumption of adequate food and other necessities and ensure affordable access to basic services and protection. This includes programming commonly referred to as "safety nets." In countries where there are nascent or evolving national social protection systems, Save the Children’s work includes supporting national and local governments and NGOs and other actors to strengthen the coverage, effectiveness and child sensitivity of existing programmes, among other things. In more fragile and conflict-affected states and in acute humanitarian emergencies where national social protection systems are not in place, Save the Children takes a more direct role, including direct delivery of cash assistance and other forms of resource transfers for essential needs, either independently or in consortium with other agencies.
