Latest Updates
New Means of Verifications and tools added
Additional Means of Verifications tools & guidance for Global Indicators have been added to the Indicator Library since it first launched in May 2024. Globally recommended Means of Verification tools & guidance are now available for ~90% Global Indicators across our core thematic areas. Some gaps remain in CRG, gender and climate. The Indicator Library will be updated with the relevant recommended Means of Verifications once final testing & validation is complete. In the meantime, if an indicator MOV says 'In development', we encourage you to use your own CO MOV as standard practice until a globally recommended tool is available. Do not hesitate to contact us if you think you can contribute to the MOV development for any specific indicator.
Global Indicators are now categorized under their relevant Strategy Indicators
Strategy indicators are the broad result metrics that will be used to measure country level progress in the Country Strategy Scorecard and global progress for the Global Goals. They are groups of related Global Indicators, which can be found on the Indicator Library. In some cases, there may be only one Global Indicator in the group. For your ease, the indicator library now reflects the same structure i.e. all Global Indicators are categorized under the broader strategy indicator that it contributes to.
Humanitarian Indicators added
The Indicator Library is aimed to be the source of truth for global indicators, reflecting both humanitarian and development priorities. Since its launch in May 2024, it has been updated to include more global indicators that align to humanitarian priorities. While previously there was a separate list of SCHP (Save the Children Humanitarian Plan) Indicators for countries to use in humanitarian contexts, going forward there will be no separate lists. Please use the ‘context’ filter/field on the library to identify global indicators that are relevant for a Humanitarian/Emergency setting. Note that the tagging of indicators as humanitarian/development is only to make the indicators easier to find and use. If you find a Global Indicator to be relevant to your context, then the tagging should not be a limitation as long as it makes sense in the project log frame.
Output indicators added
The Global Indicators are indicators that measure the key results in project Log Frames, which we have prioritized for results management (including 2025-2027 strategy monitoring) and cross-project analysis. This includes both outcome and output level indicators.
Note: While global indicators include indicators at both the outcome and output level, please note that MI37 measures the uptake specifically of global outcome indicators only as our organisation shifts to measuring outcomes more systematically across our projects. Please find the detailed KPI guide here: 2025 Guide to the SCI IP KPIs
New PRIME IDs
Each global indicator has a unique PRIME ID listed in the library which you can use to find the indicator on PRIME. The PRIME IDs for all the indicators have been revised to accommodate some system requirements – these revisions are already live on the Indicator Library. This will not change anything for country offices, please continue to use the Indicator Library as your primary source for all information related to global indicators. For any active projects that had previously used global indicators with their earlier PRIME ID, no change or action is required from the CO. They will contribute towards your CO strategy monitoring.
