Definition

This indicator look at percentage of children whose living situation would improve with assistive technologies who have been provided with appropriate assistive technologies.

This indicator helps us understand to what extent the identified need for assistive technologies amongst children SC works with is being met or not. Assistive Technology (AT) includes all assistive products and the related rehabilitation services, including the creation, fitting and modification provided by therapists, fabricators, and maintenance engineers.

Numerator

Number of surveyed children whose living situation would improve with assistive technologies who have been provided with appropriate assistive technologies

Denominator

Number of surveyed children whose living situation would improve with assistive technologies

Recommended Means of Verification

To measure this indicator three things, need to be calculated

  1. the number of children in programmes which have been identified as needing assistive technologies to remove barriers experienced. This can include children with confirmed disabilities or learning disabilities, children in need of further assessment or diagnosis or pupils in need of AT.
  2. the number of children who were in fact provided with the assistive device
  3. divide the sum of 2 with 1 to get the percentage
