Definition
This indicator measures the proportion of schools with access to at least a Basic Water service (as defined by WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene) out of the total number of schools and health care facilities in the project area over a specified time period.
Basic Water in Schools = Drinking water from an improved source is available at the school
Note: Improved water sources are those that have the potential to deliver safe water by nature of their design and construction, and include: piped water, boreholes or tubewells, protected dug wells, protected springs, rainwater, and packaged or delivered water.
