Recommended Means of Verification

Collect the following data by conducting individual interviews with (a representative sample of) mothers of children under age 5, inquiring if their children had experienced diarrhoea in the last 2 weeks preceding the survey and what treatment was received:
Has [name] had diarrhoea in the last 2 weeks?
Was [name] given any of the following at any time since [name] started having the diarrhoea:
a) A fluid made from a special called [local name for ORS packet]?
b) [Local names for pre-packaged ORS liquids] or any other pre-packaged ORS liquids
c) Zinc tablets or syrup?
d) [A government-recommended homemade fluid]?
(A complete list of questions is available via links provided)

To calculate the indicator's value, divide the number of children under age 5 with diarrhoea in the last 2 weeks who received ORS and Zinc by the total number of children under age 5 with diarrhoea in the last 2 weeks. Multiply the result by 100 to convert it to a percentage.
