Births registered within 30 days
Definition
This indicator measures the percentage in the number of live births within the project area that are officially registered within 30 days of the child's birth date, comparing the current period with a previous one (mid-line or endline with baseline, or endline with mid-line assessment survey), based on a representative sample. It assesses the progress in timely birth registration over time within the selected sample.
Numerator
The number of births registered within 30 days, based on a representative sample.
Denominator
The total number of live births within the selected representative sample.
Measuring this indicator requires looking at household surveys.
To calculate the indicator, divide the number of births registered within 30 days, based on a representative sample by the total number of live births within the selected representative sample. Multiply the result by 100 to convert it to a percentage.
This indicator evaluates the improvement or decline in timely birth registration within the project area based on a representative sample and reflects the effectiveness of SC's and/or partners' support in improving birth registration.
