This indicator calculates the percentage increase in budgetary allocations dedicated to specific components that directly affect children's rights. These specific components could encompass sectors like health, education, protection, social protection, and climate change; allocations for children most impacted by inequality and discrimination depending on context; as well as budget for specific programs and structures related to children's rights such as budget allocated to government coordination mechanisms for child rights, child rights agendas, codes or action plans, child participation structures etc.

Numerator

The increase in budget allocation for children from the previous budget cycle for a specific sector, area, or group of children as a result of SC and/or partner influencing efforts.

Denominator

The total budget allocation during the previous budget cycle for the same sector, area, or group of children.

Measuring this indicator requires looking at:
Government Budget Documents: Official budget reports, documents, or publications released by the government that provide detailed information on budget allocation.
To measure this indicator, divide the difference in the budget allocated for children during the current budget cycle compared to the allocation in the previous budget cycle by the total budget allocation for children during the previous budget cycle. Multiply the result by 100 to convert it to a percentage.
