According to UNICEF:
Unaccompanied children are children who have been separated from both parents and other relatives and are not being cared for by an adult who, by law or custom, is responsible for their care.
Separated children are defined as those separated from both parents, or from their previous legal or customary primary caregiver, but not necessarily from other relatives.
Count unaccompanied and separated children who SC/partners are actively case managing. A case management or FTR process will usually include registration, assessment, tracing/support planning, reunification/ placement, and follow-up.
Appropriate Alternative Care: formal or informal alternative care placement of children in line with the Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children.
Data collection: Measuring this indicator requires looking at CPIMS or any other existing case management databases that are currently used by SC to track reunification, reintegration, and/or appropriate care placements.
