Indicator ID in PRIME

IN00057096

Definition

This indicator measures the total number of distinct hazards (e.g., floods, droughts, conflict, disease outbreaks) for which:

- Triggers (specific thresholds or early warning signals) have been defined
- Indicators (quantitative or qualitative metrics to monitor the hazard) have been established
- Plans for early action (pre-emptive interventions to mitigate impacts) have been developed
- Regular monitoring mechanisms are operational

All as part of SC’s and/or partners’ Emergency Preparedness Planning (EPP) process during the reporting period.

Recommended Means of Verification

Calculation: This indicator is a count of distinct hazards for which early warning triggers, indicators, and early action plans have been developed and are being monitored.

Data Collection Method/Tool: Routine EPP updates, hazard analysis tools, early warning systems data, and program monitoring reports.

Data Source:
- EPP documents and hazard-specific annexes
- Early warning system dashboards and reports
- Monitoring and evaluation reports documenting early action triggers and implementation
- Meeting minutes or logs from preparedness/early action review committees

Who Collects: Save the Children staff, emergency preparedness teams
From Whom: Project managers and emergency preparedness focal points at the field level and in relevant national or regional bodies.
Frequency of Collection: Data will be reviewed and updated as part of regular EPP reviews, typically conducted annually, biannually, or during seasonal preparedness cycles.
