Numerator

Number of children in projects supported by Save the Children or a partner organisation (that is closely supported by Save the Children) who pass national or local grade 5 exams in Numeracy. If the government has not aligned to the Global Proficiency Framework, please use MEAL PIRS to outline the skills required for grade 5 or link to a reference document.

Denominator

Number of children in supported facilities assessed. Please use MEAL PIRS to state the total number of children registered in the project(s). If a sample survey was used, please use MEAL PIRS under Source of Data to show sampling method, sample size, confidence level, confidence interval, size of target population, and the effect size where a comparison group was also assessed.

Recommended Means of Verification

Measuring this indicator requires referring to national or local assessments for grade 5. To measure this indicator, divide the number of children who passed the grade 5 assessment by the number of children who took the grade 5 assessment. Multiply the result by 100 to convert it to a percentage.
