Definition

This indicator measures the percentage of children aged 8-13 enrolled in Catch-up Clubs who achieve the ability to perform double-digit addition and subtraction.

Numerator

Number of children aged 8-13 who had NOT achieved the nemeracy level for the last grade of lower primary at the time of enrollment into the Catch-Up club who then achieve 70% in double-digit addition and subtraction within 20 (where the sum or minuend does not surpass 20).

Denominator

Number of children aged 8-13 who had NOT achieved the numeracy level for the last grade of lower primary at the time of enrollment into the Catch-Up club who participated in the assessment. Please use MEAL PIRS to state the total number of children registered in the project(s). If a sample learning assessment survey was used, please use MEAL PIRS under Source of Data to show sampling method, sample size, confidence level, confidence interval, size of target population, and the effect size where a comparison group was also assessed.

Recommended Means of Verification

Measuring this indicator requires using the Catch-up Clubs numeracy assessment. To measure this indicator, divide the number of children who achieve 70% in double-digit addition and subtraction by the number of children who participated in the assessment. Multiply the result by 100 to convert it to a percentage.
