Definition
| Definition | This indicator measures the percentage of registered unaccompanied and/or separated children who were reunified with their families or caregivers or received appropriate alternative care services. |
|---|---|
| Numerator | Number of children registered for family tracing and reunification, reintegration, or family-based alternative care by Save the Children who were reunified with their families or caregivers or received appropriate alternative care services |
| Denominator | Total number of children registered for family tracing and reunification, reintegration, or family-based alternative care by Save the Children who were being actively case-managed |
Recommended Means of Verification
Measuring this indicator requires looking at CPIMS or any other existing case management databases that are currently used by SC to track reunification, reintegration, and/or appropriate care placements.
The indicator does not require a separate survey – all data can be gained from the sources stated above. The data should capture:
The separation status of the child
The child's care arrangement at registration
Main protection concern(s) at registration
Appropriate care placement (Reunified with family/caregivers or appropriate alternative care services)
Length of time between registration and placement
To calculate the indicator's value, divide the number of children registered for family tracing and reunification, reintegration or family-based alterative care by Save the Children who were reunified with their families or caregivers or received appropriate alternative care services over a specified time period by the total number of children registered for family tracing and reunification, reintegration or family-based alternative care by Save the Children who were being actively case managed during the same specified time period. Multiply the result by 100 to convert it to a percentage.
