Definition

Definition

This indicator measures the proportion of health care facilities with access to at least a Basic Water service (as defined by the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene) out of the total number of health care facilities in the project area over a specified time period.

Basic Water in Health Care Facilities = Water is available from an improved source on the premises.
Note: Improved water sources are those that have the potential to deliver safe water by nature of their design and construction, and include: piped water, boreholes or tubewells, protected dug wells, protected springs, rainwater, and packaged or delivered water.

Number of health care facilities within the Save the Children program that have at least a Basic Water service

Denominator

Total number of health care facilities within the Save the Children program
